How to Delete Browsing History Permanently on Different Web Browsers?

Deleting web history in Chrome web browser, permanently



  1. The Chrome browser must be launched and the wrench icon placed in the top right corner of the browsing window must be clicked.

  2. The drop-down menu that appears when the wrench icon is clicked will display the “Clear browsing data” option; the empty box besides this must be clicked.

  3. Next, choose “Everything” next to the “clear data from this period” and click on clear browsing data displayed on the bottom part, this will cause permanent deletion of the web history from Chrome web browser.


Deleting web history in Internet Explorer web browser, permanently



  1. The IE web browser mist be opened and the safety button which is located at the top of this window must be clicked.

  2. In the menu, choose “delete browsing history”, the box that reads ‘history’ must then be checkmarked.

  3. The button labeled ‘delete’ below the “delete browsing history” menu must be clicked, this will lead to the permanent deletion of the web browsing history from the IE web browser, which would be no longer available.

  1. The Mozilla Firefox icon must be clicked to launch the browser, next the Tool must be clicked in the menu bar that is placed towards the top of the browser.

  2. Next, “clear recent history” must be selected from the drop-down menu, and “everything” should be chosen from the text that denotes ‘time range to clear’.

  3. The empty box next to ‘browsing and download history’ must be checked with a right mark. The clear now button must then be clicked, this would cause the permanent deletion of web browsing history from the Mozilla Firefox web browser.


Deleting web history in Apple Safari web browser, permanently



  1. After opening the Apple Safari web browser on the desktop, the gear-shaped icon in the top right corner must be clicked.

  2. In the ‘reset safari’ window which gets opened, a checkmark must be placed next to the text that reads ‘clear history’.

  3. The reset button can help in deleting the browsing history, this would take a little time, and so be patient. The ‘reset safari’ window will automatically close after the history gets deleted and the website url’s would be permanently removed from this browser.


Deleting web history in Opera web browser, permanently



  1. The Opera web browser must be started on the desktop by clicking on the icon or accessing it through the “start” menu. In the browser menu bar there is a button named ‘tools’ that must be clicked.

  2. In the drop-down list click “delete private data” and a check mark must be placed in the box placed left to the text that reads ‘clear history of visited pages’.

  3. The delete button located below the ‘delete private data’ window must be clicked next. This will cause permanent deletion of the entire history from the web browser permanently.
