Planning to Invest In High End Mouse? Get the Best Models

If you happen to be one of the lucky ones who has a big budget to splurge, an expensive gaming mouse will give you the quality and durability that you want. Here’s a closer look at the more expensive gaming mouse models.

Gaming mice with more features and customizability will cost more. If you can afford one, they’re the best option. This is why it’s common to find hardcore game freaks waiting to buy the really good models – even if they cost a packet.

The Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 9

Considered an absolute status symbol among avid gamers, the R.A.T. 9 seduces you with its looks and quality. The dual battery system ensures that you don’t run out of power during a tense game. One keeps charging while the other one backs up your game. A clear, unobtrusive LED light turns from red to green when the battery is fully powered and ready to go.

Priced at a whopping $149, it’s obvious that only the most committed players will invest in this product. But those who do will undoubtedly enjoy an unparalleled degree of comfort and customizability.

The high dpi of 5600 plus two thumb-controls placed on the side give you extra control and flexibility. To use the R.A.T. 9, simply plug into the USB cable slot which also doubles up as a charging point. Then there is the versatile weight kit that carries as many 7 weights of 6grams each.

You can customize the mouse to the best weight that feels right. In order to release a weight from the kit, all you need to do is to unscrew the top. The extra, unused weights can be easily stored in a canister that fits neatly into the battery charging station.

Since I like to toggle between dpi levels I simply used the little button located under the scroll wheel. The product comes with three programmable dpi sensitivities and you can change the dpi while on the move without disrupting your onscreen movements.

Top gaming mice like this have the dedicated dpi button that lets you switch between different modes. For example, in Battlefield 3, you have the option of running on foot or driving where the seamless switch between sensitivity profiles comes in very handy.

Razer Naga Epic

Priced at a stiff $129 (although you can get it cheaper if you search the Internet), the Razer Naga Epic is built primarily for multi-player games. When my friends come online for long hours of fast and furious play, I like using my Razer Naga Epic with its 12 programmable buttons. For single player games, I would still prefer the R.A.T. 9 but for MMO games (Massive Multi-Player Online games), the Razer Naga Epic gives you superior control and rapid switching between dpi sensitivities.

The 5600 dpi level gives you the perfect setting for fast-responses and quick speed. The best feature of the Razer Naga Epic is the numeric keypad designed in a four-by-three button format. You can tweak the driver (this comes with the product pack) to customize each of the 12 buttons. You can simply flip a switch at the bottom of the mouse to use the keypad as a numeric tool for documents.

However, I must admit that it was a little difficult to come to terms with 12 buttons as we tend to forget the utility and function associated with each.
